“Now more than ever we need to talk to each other, to listen to each other and understand how we see the world, and cinema is the best medium for doing this.” – Martin Scorsese
i2F2 is dedicated to cultivating rising filmmakers and to create a marketplace.
The Festival is organized by the Chicago South Asian Arts Council Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization which was founded in 2010 and organized the highly successful Chicago South Asian Film Festival.
In 2014, CSAAC launches i2F2 – Next Generation Festival in conjunction with the City of Evanston. The Festival brings filmmakers, distributors and audiences together to celebrate international cinema and create an industry think-tank with the vision to establish the Midwest’s first film and entertainment marketplace.
i2F2 is the first film festival of its kind anywhere in the world that highlights films made by first-time feature filmmakers and student filmmakers. For its first edition, the Festival will focus on films from and by filmmakers from three key regions: South Asia, Middle East (including Turkey and Iran) and Israel. The inaugural 2014 Film Festival will take place between May 29 – June 05 in the vibrant burgeoning arts & cultural hub of Downtown Evanston.
